UK: The Church of England Commissioners Reparatory Justice Fund

The Church Commissioners (C of E) announced a £100m reparatory justice fund in April 2024. The commission is currently continuing with its plans for an initial £100m, inviting other stakeholders to contribute towards a greater total and preparing a mechanism for applications and awarding of funding. The months following these announcements have stimulated much discussion within both the left- and right-wing press, seeing the C of E come under fire for its proposals. The project is likely to gain more and more press attention in the months and years to come.

Barbados: Heritage & Government

The Barbados government is investing in the ROAD (Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny) project, which will see the digitization of Barbados’ national archive over the next ten years. Given the substantial investment and interest in such projects nationally and throughout the Caribbean, similar projects should be monitored closely for potential overlaps and strategic engagement points.
